The Morris L. Mayer Award Board of Directors is a 21-person board comprised of individuals sharing a deep love and appreciation for Dr. Mayer. They are individuals who founded the Mayer Award; student and faculty recipients of the award; and the children, grandchildren, and closest friends of Morris and Judy Mayer. The primary activities of the Board are to screen applicants for the Award, to plan the annual banquet that celebrates the winners of the Mayer Award, and to ensure that Morris Mayer’s life of selfless service is legacy perpetuated within The University of Alabama and the local community.
